Talk 10: Mindful eating

Mireia Cervera 23 January 1017

Once again on January 19, our Ramon Barri Auditorium opened its doors to celebrate our Flax & Kale Talk 10. From the hand of Dr. Joan Vidal-Jové, graduate in Medicine and Surgery, specialist in General Surgery, Oncology and of the Apparatus Digestivo and Doctor in Psychology and Behavioral Sciences, we discovered the keys to full health through conscious eating.

The auditorium was packed and expectant. The success was such that in an hour they had run outdo all the entries, and in the end there were more than 90 people on the waiting list. But for those of you who could not attend, we are pleased to inform that we will repeat this talk shortly and we will notify you as soon as we have the date set.

The Doctor started the talk explaining that; Factors such as physical and emotional stress, poor eating habits, environmental pollutants or rhythm disturbances have a strong impact on our cellular function and rEducate the regenerative capacity of the organism. Conscious eating considers people in all their dimensions: physical, mental and essential, being the best preventive medicine to achieve an optimal state of health.

For theIn general, it is not possible to know exactly why one person has cancer and another does not. However, studies have shown that certain factors, called risk factors, can increase a person's chances of developing cancer.

"The why of cancer is not known, but the how of the disease is known"

Studies assure that between 60 and 70% of people who follow a proper diet prevent the appearance of cancer. Therefore, conscious eating is essential, as it prevents and helps improve our general condition and collaborates,in case of illness, in the efficacy of the treatments. Dr. Joan Vidal-Jové recommended following a diet based on organic (avoiding toxic) and raw foods, and avoiding processed and allergenic foods.

"ORn emotional conflict is also a trigger if there is also a toxic environment, predisposing genetics and an acid internal environment. Solving it has an impact on the appearance of possible relapses of the disease. There is scientific evidenceicas about it ”, commented the Doctor.

Dr. Joan Vidal-Jové explained, by way of example, that one of his patients had developed breast cancer, where emotional conflict could be a contributing factor. ANDLla had always wanted children, but her partner flatly refused. That situation, which he did not know how to tell anyone, could have been one of the causes of the disease.

"The true prevention for a confThe emotional licto is not a trigger of cancer is to face it and to do it you have to meditate. Yoga is a good practice with neurotransmitter effects ”.

A cancer patient needs, therefore, careComprehensive ón that includes treating the physical dimension of the disease (conscious eating and the systems of the person), the emotional dimension (stress and emotional conflicts) and the essential dimension (who we are and what we want). For CTo cure a disease, according to the Doctor, all three dimensions must be addressed. And it is very important to be able to treat the disease with the least invasive methods possible, but it is even more important to prevent it. Prevention has to be the key, toThat is essential to educate the little ones, raise awareness among adults and get all this information to the more people the better.

When Dr. Joan Vidal-Jové finished, question time was opened, and as always, cAs tasting dishes related to Talk. In this case, dishes with anti-cancer properties were chosen: our Sweet Heart cold pressed juice (orange, pomegranate, raspberry and turmeric), and Teresa's eaw mini pizzas.
